How to reach San Francisco?

San Francisco International, Oakland International, and Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International are the three main airports that link San Francisco to the rest of the globe. The last two offer cheap flights. To get to the city proper, you can use either public transportation or airport transportation.

By Rail

While BART serves as a regional frequent rail service connecting much of the East Bay and Contra Costa County with San Francisco and the San Francisco Airport through the Transbay Tube, a tunnel underneath San Francisco Bay, Amtrak provides the Bay Area with longer distance and intercity rail that takes San Francisco’s long distance station and is across the bay, outside of city limits.
